Second U®talk - Run on African Resources

Foto
The increase of Foreign Direct Investment in Africa is tremendous. Foreign nations and banks are buying themselves into the natural resources market in Africa.

We will hear the perspectives of business owners, entrepreneurs and development workers from the African continent. How do they view the future of their continent? How do they perceive foreign direct investment? What color and shape do these investments take? And what does it mean for everyday life?

Date: April 12, 2013
Time and Location: 2:00 - 4:00 pm at
IMPULSE

Lagerhuisdebat / House of Commons debate on the run on African natural resources by foreign investors
(this session replaces the previously announced panel debate with two entrepreneurs Sola Idowu, Director of AidTrade, and Peter Bronsveld of LeoVallis who, due to change of plans, can not make it to the Netherlands)

U®talk info

In cooperation with Van Hall Larenstein, URAIDE organizes a number of exchanges on change and innovation in international business development at IMPULSE, the innovation incubation centre of Wageningen University. In a couple of Friday afternoons, you are invited to panel discussions where representatives of public and private agencies will be discussing international business development. The 'wicket problems' that are being pitched will be unveiled and broken down to actionable intervention strategies by those attending: government administrators, experts, policy makers and entrepreneurs.

For whom
The topics in this series reflect the trends in international enterprising.  Development professionals and business executives as well as policy makers may seize this opportunity to tap field perspectives from mid-career development experts and entrepreneurs, this year coming from over 14 countries in Africa and Asia. U®talks are an opportunity to exchange with the Dutch NGO, policy and business environments.

You may register for one or all of the U®talks by sending an e-mail to [email protected] indicating the session(s) you wish to attend. Timely registration is recommended as seating capacity is limited to about 60 people.
